Taking Some Time to Celebrate!

This past week was full of so many amazing moments!  So many times this week, I would stop during these moments and consider how exciting these moments were. In fact, during a conversation with Rae Hughart of the Teach Better Team, we discussed the importance of truly celebrating these moments.  Yes, I celebrate every three weeks during my TRANSFORMATION check ins, but today, I want to celebrate some amazing wins this week!

TannenbaumTech Wins

This past week, I got the amazing privilege of being brought in as a virtual speaker to share 5 workshop sessions for the Freeport School District in Illinois. I had also gone there in June to present 4 workshop sessions as well. These sessions were the  first paid  sessions that I had ever had the privilege of doing as TannenbaumTech. I loved these experiences so much that I joked that I want to be an honorary pretzel! (their mascot)

But more than getting paid, I am celebrating the wins between June and August. After my June sessions, I took some time and reflected on my presentations: what went well, what needed to change, and more. Between these two months, I not only took time to reflect, but I also had many experiences through other presentations that helped me to grow.  I liked my June presentations- they were the first 90 minute sessions I had given. But as I gave my August presentations, I felt the leveling up. I had transformed my sessions to a new level  and amplified their impact. As I compared the feedback from these two months, I could see this as well.  Such a great celebration and I couldn't be prouder.

In addition, I started TRANSFORM tech coaching with my first client this week. I am so grateful to my first client to taking a risk and starting this journey with me! I can't wait to see where this transformation leads!

Fitness Wins

Twelve weeks ago, I began a fitness journey. I started working out with my colleague, Dawn Reese. Dawn Reese is one of owners of Garage Strong Fitness. They design strength training programs and share videos to help you do the exercises.  Their services include check ins along with designing programs.  Three months ago, I was afraid of working out- I had no idea if this would work, but it called at my heart.

I am so glad that I listened to my heart. After the first month, I was hooked. I had begun to love my three workouts. In my second month, I not only added a fourth workout day using resistance bands, but began a focus on my nutrition and started tracking macros. At the end of the second month, I leveled up again. I decided to restart Couch to 5K. Dawn and I adjusted my program and went back to 3 days a week of strength training with 3 days for Couch to 5K!

Yesterday, I completed Week 4 of Couch to 5K. When I started this, my pace was about 16 min per mile and I was walking less than 2 miles. Yesterday, my pace was 14 min per mile and all my workouts were over 2.25 miles. I am so proud of all of this hard work. In fact, I even signed up for a 5K in four weeks! On Thursday, I finished 12 weeks of strength training. I am rocking my new fitness routine and love how I am feeling.  Another fabulous celebration that I need to shout out!

Reflection Wins

I also want to celebrate the power of reflection. Incorporating a daily practice of reflection has been such a game changer for me. As of today, I have been tracking my TRANSFORM goals for 217 days. In addition, starting on April 15th, I began journaling using Lindsay Titus' 90 day journal. Every day, I start my day with gratitude and mirror moments and end them with mini celebrations. After ending my first 90 day journal, I bought a second copy and started again.

I love reflecting and then looking at my growth from three months ago. As I look back, I can so easily see how I have grown and transformed. I am more confident, more ready to take risks and have a totally different mindset.

What are you celebrating?

I would love to hear what you are celebrating? We all need to take some time every once in a while to celebrate.  Share an amazing win or two as we get ready for another school year unlike any other.
