Did You Know? Tech Tips

It's that time of the month again! As promised, I get to share three tips that will help you as you get ready for another school year.  I love sharing these tips because they are simple and strategic ways to use technology to transform learning. Check out at least one of these resources. Some tips are more informational like tips 1 and 2, while 3 is an amazing resource to explore and discover.

Tech Tip #1: Google Forms has a new autosave feature!

I love using Google Forms. They are easy to set up and provide amazing formative data for us as educators. But far too often when I have used Google Forms, a student or two (maybe more) has not finished the form and all their progress is lost. So when I saw that Google Forms now has an autosave feature, I was so excited! Not only can you save Google Forms, but you can save it for 30 days!  I love when Google listens and gives us what we request!

Tech Tip #2:  Look for some major updates this week on Flipgrid!

Some major updates are coming to Flipgrid this week. I don't know about you but I am so excited! So many amazing new features are on the way. Updates include adding backdrops (think green screen without the screen), lens and even music! I am so excited about these updates and the ways that we can use them to amplify student creativity. Want to learn more? Check out the video on the left for more details.

Tech Tip #3: Have you checked out Google's  Applied Digital Skills lessons?

A couple of weeks ago, I got the opportunity to learn all about how the Google Applied Digital Skills lesson library has grown from Sue Tranchina. A few years ago, I was introduced to this resource from Dr. Micah Shippee when I worked with my sixth graders to create apps with Google Slides. At that time, I started using Google's Applied Digital Skills' Creating an Interactive Story in Slides. I not only used it with my sixth graders, but also had my fourth graders create interactive stories.  So when Sue shared this resource this past summer, I was blown away by how many resources and lessons have been added. Definitely check this out. In my district, we need parental consent for this resource so check with your district before using.  Go to Applied Digital Skills to check this out. They even have a Back to School 2021 collection!

Definitely check out these amazing resources. See how adding one or more of these ideas can help you TRANSFORM learning. I can't wait to hear how they impact learning.
